What a summer it’s been for the European Union of Women on the Marina Alta! Between long, sun-soaked swims and the buzz of Classicas y Modenas’ Art in the Street starting off the second annual literature festival in Benitachell, our members have barely paused for breath. Now we’re turning our attention to something a little different: a quiz devoted entirely to women’s issues, and it promises to be one of the highlights of our year.
Join us on 30 September at 19:00 at the Restaurant of Javea Golf Club. Sharpen your pencils to test your knowledge of women’s issues alongside a room full of friends, all with a great deal of laughter.
Which country was the first to grant women the vote? A: Sweden, B: New Zealand, or C: the United Kingdom? And can you name a country where women still cannot vote today: A: Eritrea, B: Afghanistan, or C: the Vatican? Come along and discover whether your answers hold up, and learn plenty more besides.
As if that weren’t enough, no EUWMA quiz would be complete without proper sustenance, so we’re serving up fish and chips to keep everyone going happily through the rounds. Bring your appetite, your team, and your curiosity: this is an evening built for good company, sharp minds, and genuine fun. Special menu €22.00: includes a drink, welcome tapa, main course and dessert.
