Cantamus: The choir is looking for new members, in all voice groups, to join them. The choir sings a selection of inspirational or uplifting songs. Members are provided with all the music and tracks to learn to, so you can practice at home between rehearsals. They rehearse on a Monday morning 10:45 to 13:00 and will be happy to welcome you.
Canto Mundial are a truly international choir, based in Alfaz del Pí, with members from several different nations. The group sings a wide range of music from Classical to Musical Theatre in multiple languages. All rehearsals are conducted in English. Caprice ladies choir are delighted to be performing a guest spot once again at the concert in the stunning setting of Finca Jacaranda, Benissa. Careline Theatre: After our little set back of too much heat in July, World Cup, Local Fiestas everywhere and people away for summer, we are very happy to be presenting our comedy, One Act, “Darlings, You were wonderful” in October. Join us first for a tapa of Spanish Tortilla in the Benidoleig Auditorium’s Patio, a presentation of Flamenco followed by the play. Dates are October 23rd & 24th from 7pm and the 25th, from 2pm. Six ladies prepare to take part in an AMDram Festival production. Things go from bad to worse in the dressing room, a costume is left on a boyfriends motorbike whilst he is off at the pub, but do they succeed in the end? Join us to find out! The Costa Blanca Male Voice Choir had a particularly busy summer season, organising its two ‘Cave Concerts’ in Benidoleig and its weekly ‘Summer Sing’ workshops. Musical Director John Edwards went to great lengths to put together an interesting programme each week, with a different theme every week. Special attention was also given to Project 4 All, for which donations were collected. The new season, which begins this month, promises to be full of enthusiasm for our next performance at La Merced Church in Calpe on 10 October at 4pm. This will be followed in November by two performances at the Grand Xmas Gift Fair in Javea on 8 and 22 November and at the Moraira Xmas Lights. We’re still looking for enthusiastic singers, and you’re always welcome to come and have a look at Bar Mediterraneo in Teulada. Rehearsals are every Tuesday from 6.30pm to 7.45pm. After taking a well-deserved break in August, Phoenix Dancers are back in September and ready to get dancing! We’re looking forward to learning some exciting new dances and getting ready for the upcoming autumn and Christmas season. Although August was our month off, we still found time to take part in a fun pop video set here on the Costa Blanca – so the dancing never really stopped! The Stagestruck Players are a Murder Mystery Group who perform in local bars to raise money for our chosen charity, the Torrevieja Alzheimer’s Association. The Comedy scripts are all original and written by Leigh Humphries, the group’s director. The scripts are changed each month to accommodate our regular followers. We are currently rehearsing for a Murder Mystery evening at Lola’s bar in Los Montesinos on the 24th September.
