Something new is happening at Hope Christian fellowship, they have a new Pastor! Pastor Mary Walker, succeeded Pastor Bryan Lowry when he retired at the grand age of 93.
Mary says, although the services are in English, the church attracts people from many different countries, as well as a variety of different church backgrounds. The services have an informal, contemporary feel, and there is no dress code, so holiday-makers feel free to attend. Refreshments are always served after the services, so there’s ample opportunity to meet other people and make new friends. We meet every Sunday at 11am for our Sunday service, and also every Wednesday at 11.30am for Elevate our Bible study/ Prayer/ Testimony time.
One of Mary’s aims is to put the church at the Centre of the community, by sharing the love of Jesus. In conjunction with the charity A.A.N. food is collected for the needy. This church is ready to help in whatever way possible.
Cornerstone meets every Thursday, 10am – 1pm, to help people with their paperwork, such as Attendance Allowance, Carer’s Allowance, Ley of Dependency and T.I.E.s. The church also keeps a stock of mobility aids, which may be borrowed by anyone living nearby.
The church supports the work of The Message Trust, which helps vulnerable people, in the UK. We also hold a monthly lunch where money is raised to help with prison ministry in Ukraine.
WOW is held every six weeks, this is the womens’ meeting you don’t want to miss! It has a different theme, with many women from the community joining in the fun.
On 3rd September this year, 11am -1pm, A CUP OF JOY AND A CHATTER, is being launched, it’s aimed at anyone who just wants to meet up and have a free drink and a snack, with music, crafts and games. All are very welcome!
