The Calpe and Benissa International Lions Club collaborated with the Benidorm Lions in sending 500€ worth of urgently needed products for the earthquake victims in Venezuela. The Benidorm Lions have organised a container to go to Venezuela by sea.
The picture shows the Lions President, Carole Saunders, the Secretary, Carole Ainley, and shop volunteer Sonja, presenting two French volunteers a club banner, certificate of appreciation, and leaving present. The volunteers, Camille and Alice, from Orleans, have worked for two months in Calpe on a volunteer humanitarian project that the Calpe Benissa Lions helped organise. Their work has included helping in the Shop, helping run workshops for the elderly and infirm with the Cruz Roja Calpe, and working with the underprivileged with the Cruz Roja Calpe, and Caritas Calpe.
The Calpe and Benissa Lions Shop, has a fantastic range of goods for sale and good quality clothing. It can be found at 15, Calle Pintor Sorolla, Calpe, and is open from 10.00 to 13.00hrs every day apart from Sundays.
